Cycle Hire near Ledbury Station

Beyond the Hills CSP has joined forces with Ledbury Cycle Hire near Ledbury Station to offer those arriving by train the opportunity to discover the beautiful Herefordshire countryside by bicycle.

There are several excellent cycle routes to be explored from Ledbury, including the Ledbury loop taking in not only all that Ledbury has to offer, but also Eastnor where you can visit the 19th century castle, parkland and arboretum, and the Gloucestershire village of Dymock with its literary connections to the Dymock poets.

Cycle hire near Ledbury Station

The Malvern Hills AONB and Worcester loop is a circular route starting from Ledbury, cycling through the villages of Suckley and Knightwick followed by a steep climb up Ankerdine Hill. Onto Martley with a detour into Worcester, heading towards the Malvern Hills through Powick and Hanley Castle before looping back across the Malvern Hills via British Camp.

The Newent and Hartpury loop includes the village of Hartpury with its beautiful Norman church, historic bee shelter, tithe barn and university and the market town of Newent. Newent is one of the oldest inhabited towns in the Forest of Dean and has been settled since at least Roman times and appears in the 1086 Domesday Book of William the Conqueror.

Alternatively, the Malvern Hills loop is a 38-mile cycle ride skirting the Malvern Hills via British Camp and passing through Colwall, Great Malvern, Hanley Swan, Upton-on-Severn, Wellend, and Malvern before arriving back in Ledbury.


This sculpture captures Elgar leaning on a bicycle gazing at the cathedral. For Elgar cycling was a popular pastime, he regularly cycled the local lanes, exploring the countryside of Herefordshire and Worcestershire.
